Last month David took a week off work and we went on a big trip to visit seminaries he’s interested in, with lots of stops along the way. We went from Jackson to Memphis, TN to Nashville, TN to Louisville, KY to Raleigh, NC to Asheville, NC to Atlanta, GA to Birmingham, AL and then back to Jackson. A few of our favorite things were the National Civil Rights Museum (Memphis), our visit to Fellowship Church (also in Memphis… read their vision, incredibly inspiring), dinner at Poole’s (Raleigh), dinner at Burger Up (Nashville), fish tacos at Mas Tacos (Nashville, David says “best fish taco of my life”), riding bikes in Waterfront Park (Louisville), popsicles at Steel City Pops (Birmingham), an actual drive in movie theatre (I’d never been), hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains on the way to Asheville (Linville Falls), and ice cream at Jeni’s (Nashville). We also really loved getting to meet up with several old friends along the way. For most of the trip we stayed in places we found through AirBnB and all of our experiences were really positive. Highly recommended if you want to save money, don’t mind making new friends and especially if (like us) you’re stopping multiple places on one trip and not staying in the room too much. We were so busy in the days we really just needed somewhere to crash at night and AirBnB was wonderful for that. Overall, it was a really good trip. Here’s to seeing more of this beautiful country.
